We recently fully redesigned Vintage Spirit magazine for Steam Heritage Publishing, a monthly magazine on preservation which is sold through newsagents. Starting with the logo and masthead, we created a text-based logo which is much stronger and more readable than the old logo. While we created a primary colour palette for the brand the logo is very flexible so it can be coloured differently to suit the variety of images than can be used on the cover, allowing maximum contrast where necessary.

For the magazine internal pages, the aim of the redesign was to give it a clean layout style and improve the legibility of text throughout and pleasingly, it appears to have been well received by the magazine’s readers.
