Recently Steve Wilson was invited by Louise Barnes-Johnston to discuss graphic design and visual presentation on her regular radio show on Blog Talk Radio.
Louise: “Why, when you have access to great design software on your computer, would you need the services of a design company? If you’ve ever been handed those obviously ‘home-made’ business cards then you already know the answer. Continuing the visual presentation theme, I’m joined today by Steve Wilson, Creative Director of Wilson Design Associates. The difference between so-so and great marketing materials is often found in the smallest design details and I’ll be doing my best to get Steve to share some insider secrets…”

WDA designed and produced all of the promotional material, including invites, folders, roller banners and press adverts, for the Creative Coast Exhibition, held at the Ropetackle Building in Shoreham.
The exhibition was hosted jointly by the Enterprise Gatewaway and the SCDF to showcase Designers, Artists and Creative Businesses based around the South Coast, between Chichester and Brighton.
Wayne Hemingway gave a thought provoking keynote speech, as always, and Gareth Seer (Enterprise Gateway) and Peter Spence (SCDF) both spoke about the support available to creative companies from their respective organisations. Steve ran a workshop on ‘Branding your creative business’ and there were also two other workshops run by John McFaul and Caroline Salmon.

For the third year running Steve attended Bishop Luffa School to give a talk on branding and marketing for the students entering into the Young Enterprise scheme.
The school hosted 65 students from around the area representing Seaford College, Chichester High Schools, Midhurst Grammar and Bishop Luffa. The main focus for the masterclass included Business Finance and Marketing/Product Branding (WDA).
Mr Dave Fotheringham said it was one of the most successful master-classes held in recent years and Mr Blamire emphasised how important it is to encourage young people who are excited about running their own businesses. Several students commented that it really helped them to understand the needs and demands when running a business effectively. We look forward to seeing how they implement their new found knowledge!
